Terms of Service

Last updated October 7, 2026

Who we are

These terms are an agreement between you and Alexandria Library, Inc., a Delaware corporation, at 131 Continental Dr, Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713, USA (“Alexandria”, “we”, or “us”). You can reach us at benmowinckel@gmail.com.

What this is

Alexandria provides instructions and support files that your own model can use to build your own personal data system, including a private record of your thinking. That system uses the strongest private home your current model can actually write and retrieve, such as approved Git files, documents in your own Google Drive, or your model provider’s personalisation. If none is writable, it returns an explicit unsaved handoff. Alexandria also runs an optional hosted connector, which covers accounts, membership, the Library, the Marketplace, publishing, and related payment features.

These terms govern the website and hosted connector. The public source and files on your own machine remain subject to any notices included with them.

Age

You must be 18 or older to create an account or join. If we find that an account belongs to someone younger, we close it.

Your private files

You own your private record. Alexandria does not claim rights to your constitution, vault, notes, transcripts, or other private local files. If you stop using Alexandria, those files remain yours. Your own system keeps working without the company; hosted connector features do not.

Content you publish

You keep ownership of anything you publish to the Library or Marketplace. You give Alexandria a limited, worldwide licence to host, copy, format, and display that material only as needed to provide the access settings and features you choose.

You must have the right to publish what you submit. You can update or unpublish it, but removing it from Alexandria cannot recall copies already downloaded, cached, forked, or shared by other people.

Membership and payments

Everything except the connector is free. The connector is optional, and free for any month in which three different people open your invite link; otherwise membership is charged at the end of each month. Your first 30 days are free. The price, when it renews, and how to cancel are shown at checkout, and what checkout shows controls your purchase.

Memberships renew monthly until cancelled. You can cancel any time, in one step, at alexandria.place/cancel. Your membership then continues to the end of the period you have paid for, and you are not charged again. Individual Authors may separately price Library files or works; those prices and any platform fee are shown before purchase.

Your right to withdraw

If you live in the EU, the EEA, or the UK, you can withdraw from a membership within 14 days of joining without giving a reason, by cancelling at alexandria.place/cancel or by emailing us. Because the first month is free, nothing is charged within those 14 days.

Refunds

We give refunds wherever the law requires, including when you withdraw as described above. Otherwise, completed monthly charges are not refunded. If money is ever the reason you would leave, reply to the email we send a week before any charge and ask for it to be waived.

Accounts

Hosted features use an emailed sign-in code and may issue an API key or browser session. Keep those credentials private and tell us if you believe they were compromised. You are responsible for activity performed through your account until it is secured or deleted. Sign out ends the browser session on this device; it does not revoke the API key or delete the account.

Acceptable use

Do not bypass access controls, access another person’s private or paid material without permission, upload malware or unlawful content, interfere with the service, automate abusive traffic, impersonate another person, or use Alexandria to harm others or violate law. We may suspend accounts or remove published material that violates these terms.

Reporting a problem

Anyone can report material on alexandria.place that infringes copyright or is illegal. Email benmowinckel@gmail.com with the link, what is wrong, and how to reach you. For copyright, also name the work, say that you believe in good faith the use is not allowed, and state, under penalty of perjury, that your report is accurate and that you own the rights or act for the owner, signed with your full name.

Our designated copyright agent is Alexandria Library, Inc., 131 Continental Dr, Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713, USA, benmowinckel@gmail.com. We act quickly, tell the person who published the material what was removed and why, and they can reply to contest it. We close the accounts of people who infringe repeatedly.

The same address is our single point of contact under the EU Digital Services Act, for authorities and users alike. Write to it in English.

Model providers and third-party services

Alexandria runs on Cloudflare, sends email through Resend, takes payments through Stripe, and hosts its code on GitHub. Those services, your model provider, Google Drive, and any tools you connect have their own terms and privacy practices. A model’s output can be wrong. You decide what to run, publish, buy, or act on, and you remain responsible for reviewing those decisions.

Availability and liability

Alexandria is provided as-is and as available. Features may change, break, or end. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Alexandria is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost data, lost profits, model output, service interruptions, or material published by users. Nothing here excludes liability that law does not allow us to exclude.

Governing law

These terms are governed by California law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be brought in state or federal courts in San Francisco, California, unless applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring them elsewhere. Nothing in these terms takes away the protection that the mandatory laws of the country you live in give you as a consumer.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects a paid service or your data, we will give reasonable notice by email or on the website. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
