How do I use Notion as context for Claude or ChatGPT, and keep a copy I own?

Keep Notion as it is, let your model read it through a connector or an export, and keep what it reads and learns about you in plain files on your own computer. That’s how my own system treats every place my context lives, and I wrote it down as a blueprint, alexandria., which your model reads and builds on your computer.

If all your context is in Notion and Notion’s own assistant does what you need, keep that. What one workspace can’t hold is a copy on your own computer, your other tools working from the same record, and the people in your life.

You tell your model where your context already lives, Notion included, and it adds each place to the one guide every tool reads first. Before it reads a source, it tells you what it will read, what it will keep, whether any service is asked for anything, and how to stop it, one source at a time, and it reads through whatever route your tool really has. What it reads is kept in your files as it came, and what it learns about you goes into your record, which Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor read directly. It keeps that copy current in the way you choose.

Nothing is moved out of Notion, and you keep working there while the copy in your files grows beside it.

On top of the record sit the parts a workspace doesn’t have: a session where your model thinks with you from everything you’ve written, a one-tap save from your phone, and, if you join, what the people in your life choose to share with you.

Show the blueprint to your model, and it’ll tell you what your setup is missing, if anything.
