alexandria.
Can I keep ChatGPT’s memory and Claude’s Projects, and still own what they know about me?
Yes. Keep both as they are, and add one record on your own computer that draws in what each tool has learned about you, so every tool you use can read it. The memory module in my blueprint, alexandria., does that each time you run a session, and switches nothing off.
If you use one app and its memory works for you, you may need nothing more. The gap opens when you use a second tool, or want to leave the first.
Your model reads the blueprint and builds the record on your computer. The memory module leaves every tool’s own memory on and never edits it, and draws in only from the tools you said yes to, whatever each has learned since the last session. Where a tool keeps its memory on your computer, as Claude Code and Codex do, it reads it there. Where the memory lives in the app’s account, as ChatGPT’s and Claude’s do, it gives you one prompt to paste that asks the app to write out everything it remembers, or takes the app’s own export.
It keeps only what you told the tool. If Claude remembers that your sister’s birthday is 4 May, the next session adds it where you keep notes on your people. If a tool decided you’re a perfectionist, that’s the tool’s reading of you, and it stays with the tool. Passwords and keys never move.
From then on, what you told one tool on Tuesday is known to every model you use on Wednesday, and leaving a tool costs you nothing it learned.
Show the blueprint to your model, and it’ll tell you what you’re missing, if anything.
