alexandria.

I keep my notes in Obsidian. What does alexandria. add?

Obsidian is for writing, linking, and browsing your own notes, kept as plain Markdown files on your device. You can keep it and add alexandria., which has every model you use read and add to a record of how you think, while your vault stays exactly where it is.

Obsidian is a lovely place to write and to look around. It’s free, works offline, has thousands of plugins and themes, and offers paid Sync and Publish if you want your notes on every device or on the web. Your notes stay ordinary Markdown files you can take anywhere. There’s no editor in alexandria. at all, so if you like seeing your notes laid out and linked, that stays Obsidian’s job.

A vault helps a model only when the model reads it. With alexandria., that becomes a standing habit: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and the other tools you use read your record before they help and save back what you said and made, with no command. It also adds what a vault alone doesn’t have, which is sessions where your model questions your thinking and writes what changed into your files, saving from your phone in one tap, and a connector where your system meets the systems of the people in your life.

Your vault stays where it is. Your model reads it there rather than moving or converting anything, and a line in your record notes where it lives so every tool knows to look. Your alexandria. record is plain Markdown too, so Obsidian can open it like any other folder of notes.

Show the blueprint to your model, and it’ll tell you what you’re missing, if anything.
