alexandria.
Claude has memory and Projects. What does alexandria. add?
Claude’s memory and Projects are for Claude knowing you and your work inside Claude. You can keep both and add alexandria., which keeps a record of how you think in files on your own computer that every model you use reads and adds to, running beside them rather than replacing them.
Claude’s memory is built in, and you can see and edit everything it remembers. It can search your past chats, and each Project keeps its own files and its own memory, so one piece of work never spills into another. It works on the web, the desktop, and your phone with nothing to set up, and it can take in what another app remembers about you, from a prompt you run there and paste back.
That memory lives in your Anthropic account and is made for Claude. I built alexandria. so the record lives with you, as plain files that Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or whatever comes next all read, and so it comes with the parts no single app builds: sessions where your model develops your thinking instead of doing it for you, saving from your phone in one tap, and a connector where your system meets the systems of the people in your life.
Setting up alexandria. leaves Claude’s memory untouched, so it keeps working exactly as before. In Claude Code, your model reads your record before it helps and saves back what you said and made, and each conversation is kept in your own folder. In the Claude app, you can add the alexandria. connector from Claude’s directory, and when you say yes, your model draws in what Claude remembers, from Claude’s own data export or by asking it to write out what it knows.
Show the blueprint to your model, and it’ll tell you what you’re missing, if anything.
